Shambara Boutique Hostel

The hostel I stayed at in Bangkok was so cute and food was amazing in the hostel restaurant. They served complimentary coffee and toast for the morning only $9 Canadian a night to stay in a single room with AC. The service was great I was greeted at the airport and driven to the hostel and escorted to the room with a complimentary bottle of water for my first night. The airport ride is 45 minutes... crazy traffic at the airport and they only charged $24 Canadian for this extra help. When I got there I only had a credit card and they only take cash. Without hesitation the receptionist said not to worry and to pay tomorrow because she said I must be exhausted from my flight and it is too late for you to have to look around for a bank machine right now (it was after midnight)...how sweet is that! I rested well that night and felt well taken care of. The hostel is just off Khao San road (very lively packpacking haven) down a little alley I was suprised that the noise did not travel to the hostel and I had a quiet night sleep. In Bangkok many bathroom toilet stalls (even public ones) have hand held showers in them as well as a toilet with a drain in the floor. Most public washrooms do not have toilet paper or soap, so I always carried small packets of toilet paper and Purell hand cleaner. As well signs in each toilet ask that toilet paper is not put in the toilet and must be put in the garbage bin by the toilet. Toilets that did have toilet paper or if lucky toilet paper and soap normally were about 5BAHT or 10BAHT to use. I have put in a pic for you to see.
